National Citizenship Day Observed in Solenzo Under Theme of Territorial Integrity

Solenzo – On Monday, October 23, 2023, the High Commissioner of the Banwa province, Oumarou Sandwidi, officially launched the national day of the flag and symbols of Faso. The event was held at the prefecture square in Solenzo and attended by members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), various directors, department heads, and the general population.

According to a new release by Burkina Information Agency, filling the square with people eager to participate. By 7:25 a.m., High Commissioner Oumarou Sandwidi arrived, and at precisely 7:30 a.m., the police raised the colors of the national flag. Those present aligned themselves, eyes fixed on the flag, as the national anthem was sung, symbolizing the state’s sovereignty in the Banwa province.

Following the flag-raising, High Commissioner Sandwidi addressed the crowd. He elucidated the objectives of National Citizenship Week, which is centered on the theme: “Citizenship in action for the reconquest of the integrity of the national territory.” He also elaborated on the significance of the national flag, anthem, and other national symbols of Faso.

In his speech, Sandwidi expressed gratitude towards the FDS, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and all stakeholders contributing to development in the Banwa province. He stated that the future of Burkina Faso relies on collective determination and commitment to the nation’s best interests. “We are called to live together in good cohesion, which will allow us to emerge victorious in this war,” Sandwidi concluded.
