Ganzourgou: Nationals of the village of Tuiré offer food and non-food items to IDPs in Zorgho

The daughters and sons of the village of Tuiré, commune of Zorgho handed over food and non-food items to the communal authorities of Zorgho for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the commune on Friday August 25, 2023.

The outpouring of solidarity with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) launched by the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré had a favorable echo in the village of Tuiré (15 km to the ‘East of the Zorgho). Indeed, the daughters and sons of the village residing there or living elsewhere have contributed more than 500 thousand CFA francs to help IDPs in the commune of Zorgho and contribute to the peace effort.

The sum thus collected allowed them to buy 40 bags of rice of 25kg each, that is one ton, 2 boxes of spaghetti and 240 balls of soap. They also paid the sum of 200,000 CFA francs to the public treasury into the account of the patriotic support fundDuring a small ceremony, they officially handed over the fruit of their contribution to the prefect, President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Zorgho in the youth center of Tuiré on August 25, 2023.

According to the donor representative, Rasmané Kaboré, the nationals of Tuiré created a WhatsApp group in June 2020 to facilitate exchanges between the daughters and sons of the village who have remained there or live elsewhere. It was in this group that the idea of making contributions to support IDPs was put forward and this met with the approval of all the members. According to him, the chief of Tuiré was informed and this one encouraged the initiative by bringing his contribution.

His representative at the ceremony, El hadj Hamado Ouédraogo, on behalf of the chief congratulated the initiators of the gesture. He thanked the authorities and the FDS and wished God to accompany them in their fight for the return of peace in the country.

The President of the special communal delegation of Zorgho, Valentin Badolo expressed the gratitude of the highest authorities for the gesture that the nationals of Tuiré have made. For him, it is a very good example that is given to the rest of the town.

With more than 600 IDPs currently living in the commune, this gesture is a breath of fresh air for the PDS in their care. He invited the daughters and sons of Tuiré to remain united and united and hoped that many other villages would follow their example.

A Tuiré national living in Pouytenga, Mr. Souleymane Kaboré said that this gesture is the second of its kind that Tuiré nationals have made towards IDPs. He greeted the nationals of the village living outside (Ouagadougou, Bobo, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali…) for their contribution. He invited all the girls and sons of the village to remain mobilized for other actions.
