Suicide Car Bomb in Mogadishu’s Celasha Biyaha Claims Six Lives and Injures Nine

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A suicide car bomb attack occurred in the district of Ceelasha Biyaha on the outskirts of Mogadishu, resulting in six deaths and nine injuries, according to the Somali Police Spokesman, Sadik Dodishe.

According to News Releases by Somali National News Agency, reports that Al-Shabaab terrorists packed a car with explosives and detonated it near a camp in the area. Four security force members and two civilians were among the dead, while nine others—five security force members and four civilians—were injured. Nearby properties, including houses, also sustained damage from the blast.

Dodishe noted that this marked the fifth instance where security forces intercepted vehicles rigged with explosives attempting to enter Mogadishu. The incidents occurred in the districts of Dar-e-salam, Deynile, Wardhigley, Kaxda, and most recently, Ceelasha Biyaha.
