Jane Furse police arrest two suspects for cases including kidnapping and robbery

The Police in Jane Furse arrested two suspects aged between 27 and 29 following a kidnapping and robbery incident that occurred at Ga- Moretsele village, on Wednesday, 26 July 2023 at around 18:30.

According to information received, the Security Guard responded to an alert from client at a Tuckshop in Ga-Moretsele, he was with other female client. Upon arriving at the Tuckshop, he left the lady in the car and advanced to the complainant. Two suspects suddenly emerged and pointed him with firearm. He fired a warning shot and they ran to his vehicle and drove off with the lady inside. He called a backup from his colleagues, they cornered the suspects and arrested them at the bushes next to the cemetery in the same village.

The female victim was rescued. Her cellphone was also robbed during incident.

Police were alerted about the ordeal and opened a case of kidnapping and two counts of robbery and detained the two suspects.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commends the security guard for ensuring that they support each other until the woman was rescued and responsible suspects arrested.

The suspects will appear before the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 28 July 2023.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
