Cunene: The South African tourism agency “Trans Africa Drive Adventures” has announced plans to prioritize the promotion of Angola’s tourism potential in 2025, aiming to attract the international community. The announcement was made by George Van Deventel, the South African tourism ambassador and coordinator of Trans Africa Drive Adventures, during the return of a group of tourists who spent the festive season in Angola.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Van Deventel highlighted that different groups of tourists will be visiting Angola in 2025 to experience the country’s natural attractions. He emphasized Angola’s appeal, citing its natural beauty, friendly population, and culturally rich environment, which are of significant interest and worthy of greater international attention.

Van Deventel commended the Angolan police for their efforts in patrolling tourist camps, which enhances the safety and tranquility for visitors. As South Africa’s tourism ambassador, he is committed to showcasing Africa’s hid
den regional treasures and challenging the skepticism and stigma often associated with the continent.

He also pointed out a challenge in the tourism sector, noting the absence of English or other international languages in most restaurants, police stations, and traffic signs. Van Deventel stated, “If we want to promote tourism, it is necessary to standardize the international language, in addition to the official language of each country, to reverse the difficulties of interaction.”

The recent trip included 23 tourists who explored regions such as Cunene, Lubango (Huila), MoSmedes, Tombwa, and Baía das Pipas (Namibe) over two weeks. Trans Africa Drive Adventures maintains an influential online presence, with several digital platforms and a Facebook page boasting 170,000 followers worldwide, where they showcase Africa’s natural beauty.
