Quality investigation by detective of SAPS Norkem Park leads to conviction of three suspects for tampering with essential infrastructure

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng remains resolute in addressing the proliferation of essential infrastructure related crime as it has a detrimental impact on the economy of the country.

On Tuesday, 11 July 2023 the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court sentenced three suspects, aged between 29 and 31, to 10 years’ imprisonment each for tampering with essential infrastructure.

The suspects were arrested in January 2020 where after the case was assigned to Sergeant Freddy Makau of SAPS Norkem Park for further investigation.

Makau’s meticulousness and dedication resulted in a water-tight case against the accused in court.
