The Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice and the Greek Chair at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi have concluded an agreement to organize two international conferences themed “The Hellenic World and India: History, Culture and Commerce from the Hellenistic Period to the Modern Era (4th century BC – 18th century AD)”, to be held in December 2022 in New Delhi and in September 2023 in Venice respectively.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will also participate in the organization of the conference in New Delhi, which will take place from 12 to 16 December 2022.
The initiative for the organization of the above conferences was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, while giving a speech at the JNU Greek Chair, in the context of his recent visit to India (New Delhi, March 22-23, 2022).
The organization of the specific international conferences is part of the steady course of strengthening and developing the relations between Greece and India, which extend to the educational-cultural field as well.
