Police confiscate liquor during high-density operation

The confiscation of liquor, from especially unlicensed liquor outlets which are regarded as generators of serious crime, saw the arrest of a 54-year-old man on Friday evening, 06 October 2023, for illegally dealing in liquor.

Members of Operation Restore were busy with high-density operations in Mfuleni when they searched a premises situated in Zenzile Walk, Bardale and confiscated a consignment of alcohol. The owner of the premises could not produce any valid documentation for selling liquor. He was arrested for dealing in liquor without a licence.

In an unrelated matter members of were busy with crime prevention operations in Parliament Street, Mfuleni when they searched a Ford Ranger light deliver vehicle and found a consignment of liquor on the back of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle could not give an explanation of why he is in possession of the liquor. It was then determined that he was selling the liquor. He was arrested for dealing in liquor without a license.

The suspects will appear in
the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court on Monday, 09 October 2023 respectively.
