PM holds talks with ambassadors of Indonesia, China and Finland

Prime Minister Najla Bouden met, on Friday at the Government Palace in Kasbah, with the ambassadors of Indonesia, the Republic of China and Finland.

At the meeting with Indonesian Ambassador Zuhairi Misrawi, Bouden praised the excellent historical relations between the two countries. She voiced Tunisia’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in several promising fields including trade, investment and higher education, said a Prime Ministry statement.

Bouden also stressed the importance of proceeding with the upcoming events, including the 11th Tunisian-Indonesian Joint Commission in Jakarta, “with the aim of giving fresh impetus to bilateral relations in many areas.”

The Indonesian ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to enhance the prospects of bilateral cooperation. He emphasised Indonesia’s conviction of the value and richness of religious education in Tunisia, marked by moderation and willingness to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of religious studies and training.

Bouden also stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation to new areas as she met Chinese Ambassador Wan Li, “taking into account the interests of both countries and friendly peoples.”

She commended the level of Tunisian-Chinese cooperation, which resulted in “the implementation of a number of Chinese projects in Tunisia in the fields of health, infrastructure, youth, sports, training and culture.”

The Chinese ambassador welcomed the level of cooperation between the two countries, stressing his country’s intention to continue joint work and raise the level of bilateral cooperation.

The PM, as she met Finnish Ambassador Teemu Sepponen, welcomed the level of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. She indicated that the government is developing economic reform programmes, including economic empowerment programmes for young people and encouraging business-creation in the fields of new technologies, digitalisation and artificial intelligence.

The Finnish ambassador expressed his country’s willingness to foster the cooperative relations, particularly in the field of communication technologies. He spoke about the outcome of the fruitful visit that the Minister of Communication Technologies paid to Finland in February 2023.

The visit discussed ways to develop Tunisian-Finnish cooperation and exchange experiences and expertise in the fields of e-governance, digital services and modernisation of the administration.
