Gnagna Province Inaugurates College of Dialogue and Mediation Delegation

Bogandé – The College of Dialogue and Mediation (CDM) of Gnagna province, chaired by Parish Priest Mathieu Ouoba of the Saint André parish of Bogandé, officially inaugurated its provincial delegation on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The ceremony was attended by the president of the regional delegation.

Following its establishment in the provinces of Gourma and Tapoa, the CDM expanded its presence to Gnagna province, continuing its mission to foster peace, solidarity, and social cohesion in the region. The CDM, a Burkinabè association governed by Law 034, was founded in 2020 in response to the intercommunity days for peace held on July 13 and 14, 2020, in Fada N’Gourma.

According to Burkina Information Agency, president of the CDM of the Eastern region, the organization operates as an alternative mechanism for peacebuilding. The CDM encompasses various societal groups for collective reflection, initiating mechanisms for community actions against extremism, risk alertness and anticipation, and the promotion of human rights, good governance, and coexistence.

The new provincial delegate of the CDM of Gnagna, priest Mathieu Ouoba, described the CDM as a divine opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate in promoting peace and coexistence. He encouraged all members to contribute actively to addressing the region’s challenges.

The appointed members of the CDM of Gnagna delegation include:

1st Delegate: Yempani Lankoandé (customary chiefdom)

2nd Delegate: Alassane Taboudou (FEME)

3rd Delegate: El Hadj Seydou Mano (Muslim Community)

Secretary General: Hyacinythe Yarga (Communal Youth Council)

Secretary for Organization and Information: Sibiri Léon Lankoandé

Treasurer: Manipougui Lankoandé (Departmental Coordination of Women)
