National Assembly Speaker Wetang’ula Calls for Patience as Economy Shows Signs of Recovery


CHAVAKALI, Kenya — During a fundraising event at Chavakali High School grounds for the Sabatia Empowerment Initiative, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula urged Kenyans to remain patient with the government’s efforts to revitalize the economy. Despite acknowledging the current economic challenges, Wetang’ula assured the public that measures are being taken to improve the situation. The event, championed by Sabatia Member of Parliament (MP) Clement Sloya, aimed to gather resources to support local empowerment projects.



According to Kenya News Agency, the country’s leaders must unite and collaborate across political lines to ensure resources are effectively distributed to benefit common interest groups and foster collective prosperity. He emphasized the importance of unity among the political class for the country’s economic recovery and development.



Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera echoed Wetang’ula’s sentiments, calling for mutual respect and unity among political leaders, regardless of party affiliations, to enhance the living standards of Kenyans. Nabwera specifically highlighted the significance of supporting Wetang’ula’s leadership to ensure a cohesive political direction for the western region.



Clement Sloya, the area MP, highlighted his efforts towards fulfilling his campaign promises, focusing on the economic empowerment of women and youth within his constituency. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to addressing economic challenges through community-driven projects and political cooperation.
