Namibian Police Commander Calls for Private Support During Festive Season

OMUTHIYA: Commissioner Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) commander for the Oshikoto Region, has appealed to private companies for food donations to support police officers during their festive season operations.

According to The Namibia Press Agency, Kalompo-Nashikaku’s appeal came during a recent event in Omuthiya where she received food donations from Helena Nekomba, owner of the Okaale Complex.

Kalompo-Nashikaku acknowledged the contributions from Dundee and the Rani Group of Companies, as well as several private individuals who have provided water to the Namibian Police Force. She expressed gratitude for these donations, which are essential for the police teams camping in the bush to prevent theft and smuggling. The commander emphasized that the officers have been bringing their own food to assist the government’s efforts. She outlined the police force’s objectives of ensuring zero fatalities on roads, preventing stock theft, and avoiding serious incidents during the festive season. Nekomba, motivated by the dedicated efforts of the police, donated an ox, 10 kilograms of fish, 100 loaves of bread, and 240 cans of cooldrink, calling on others to support the police in their crucial work.
