Yangon: Myanmar authorities have seized a significant haul of 188,000 stimulant tablets and 16 kilograms of ICE (methamphetamine) in the eastern region of Shan state, as reported by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Thursday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the operation was initiated following a tip-off, prompting anti-narcotics police to conduct a raid on a house in Tachileik town on December 3. The raid resulted in the confiscation of narcotics with a street value exceeding 211.2 million kyats, equivalent to approximately 100,571 U.S. dollars.
A suspect has been charged under Myanmar’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and authorities have stated that an in-depth investigation is currently underway to uncover further details related to the case.
