More than 3 Billion FCFA Invested in Toma Over Three Years

Nayala: More than 3 billion invested in the commune of Toma in three years the achievements in the commune of Toma from 2022 to 2024 amount to 3 billion 115 million FCFA, said last Friday the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Toma, Zakaria Sawadogo.



According to Burkina Information Agency, investments in Toma over the past three years have focused on health, education, drinking water, and sanitation. During an admissibility ceremony at the town hall of Toma on December 27, 2024, Zakaria Sawadogo stated that these investments have improved the living conditions of the local population.



The PDS encouraged economic operators to invest in the hotel sector, describing it as a promising area. High Commissioner Barro Oumar thanked the special delegation for their work and urged the community to support local governance by paying taxes and other dues. He also advised residents to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent accidents.



The ceremony also addressed staffing shortages at the town hall and other concerns. High Commissioner Omar Barro noted that a lack of revenue hampers significant staff recruitment. He suggested focusing on agent provision to address human resource deficiencies.



Alain Charles Zant©, representing the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, expressed gratitude for the construction of 45 classrooms in Toma. However, he requested the building of fences for schools in the town. Hamadoun Barry, representing post-primary and secondary education, called for a track to improve access to the municipal high school and the construction of a staff room at Kisson general education college.



The communal women’s coordinator requested support for women in the upcoming International Women’s Day celebration. She emphasized that, despite terrorism, the women of Toma are determined to demonstrate Burkina Faso’s resilience on March 8, 2025.
