Burkina Faso Government Adopts New Project Maturation Guide to Prioritize Security and Development

OUAGADOUGOU – The government of Burkina Faso has adopted a revised project maturation guide focused on the nation’s current priorities, particularly in the areas of security and endogenous development. This decision was made during a council of ministers held this Wednesday in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the original guide, developed in 2018, underwent significant improvements to align with Burkina Faso’s pressing needs. The revision process was completed and ratified during the council meeting chaired by the head of state, Ibrahim Traoré. Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the minister spokesperson for the government, highlighted in the council report that the new version of the guide addresses previous limitations and introduces necessary enhancements.

A key innovation, as pointed out by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Foresight, Aboubacar Nacanabo, is the early examination of project sheets. This process ensures that projects are aligned with current priorities right from their inception. Minister Nacanabo emphasized the importance of linking projects and programs with the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development, which serves as the benchmark for the country’s development initiatives.
