Mokopane Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Series of Robberies


Mokopane – The Police in Mokopane have arrested a 33-year-old male suspect linked to a series of business and house robberies, including attacks on post offices, committed throughout the year. The arrest occurred on Friday, 22 December 2023, following an intelligence-driven operation.



According to South African Police Service, Members of the SAPS Mokopane and the Trio Task Team acted on received information to locate and apprehend the suspect in Seshego. The suspect had evaded arrest while his three accomplices were detained earlier in the festive season for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Now in custody, the suspect will face charges alongside his accomplices for the twenty cases of robberies. The suspects are linked to robberies committed at Post Offices in Mokopane and other business and house robberies in Polokwane during 2023. The apprehended suspect is scheduled to appear before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 27 December 2023.
