Minister of National Education Engages with Colleagues in Koudougou


KOUDOUGOU – On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the Minister of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthène Dingara, conducted a visit to Koudougou as a segment of his national tour aimed at dialoguing directly with education stakeholders and strategizing future directions.



According to Burkina Information Agency, this important engagement, which spanned slightly over two hours, saw Minister Dingara interacting with education professionals and affiliates from Boulkiemdé, Sanguié, Sissili, and Ziro provinces in the Centre-West region. The meeting addressed multiple critical issues such as social debts associated with the “empty locker operation,” curriculum reforms, educational symposiums, updates on educational materials, the state of elementary education sectors, and the evaluation and participation mechanisms in school examinations.



The session enabled various participants, representing both educators and collaborators, to voice their concerns, ensuring their issues were acknowledged and addressed. Minister Dingara, alongside his team, demonstrated a commitment to transparency and support, responding effectively to inquiries raised during the discussions.



Moreover, the assembly focused on broader educational challenges and the Ministry’s commitment to improving the education sector. These encompass enhancing staff management, advancing digital integration in educational processes, promoting technical alongside conventional education, continuing teacher education, and endorsing national languages. The dialogue also covered the imperative of early childhood education, the enhancement of the SIGEC system, and the augmentation of student access to nutritious school meals.



The initial remarks were delivered by Dreppnf Abylaicé Rouamba, representing the regional education directorates of Centre-West, who presented a comprehensive overview of the educational landscape, detailing student demographics across various educational levels in the region.
