Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement to journalists following his contacts in Israel (31.01.2023)

Concluding my visit today to the State of Israel, I am extremely satisfied. I had the opportunity to meet with the entire political and state leadership of the country: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eli Cohen, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and President Isaac Herzog.

There was a wide-ranging exchange of views. First and foremost, however, what I retain as most important is the clear statement by the Israeli side in favor of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and sovereign rights of Greece. A statement that was made on camera and with clarity.

Aside from that, there was a broad convergence on a number of issues, including energy, transport, defense, and economic cooperation with division in the various sectors, which, in my opinion, constitutes an excellent springboard for further deepening the relations between Greece and Israel.
