Royal Air Maroc Plans Major Fleet Expansion by 2037

Casablanca, Morocco – The Moroccan government and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) have inked a significant agreement that will transform air transport in Morocco over the next fourteen years. This agreement outlines a plan to expand the airline’s network and fleet substantially.

According to Africa News Agency, By 2037, RAM aims to increase its fleet from the current 50 aircraft to 200. The expansion plan includes the addition of new flight destinations from Mohammed V airport in Casablanca and the re-establishment of routes suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. An ‘open skies’ agreement with the European Union will facilitate direct flights between Moroccan and European cities, enhancing connectivity.

During the pandemic, RAM had to adapt to global disruptions, reducing its European routes from 43 to 33. The ambitious plans include transforming Casablanca into a key air hub for Africa and elevating RAM to the status of major global and regional airlines. The Ministry of Transport is committed to supporting RAM’s growth to bolster its economy and international reputation.
