Minister Bazié Assures Burkinabè in Cameroon of Efforts to Restore Security by Year’s End


YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON — During a working visit to Cameroon, Bassolma Bazié, the Minister of State in charge of the Civil Service of Burkina Faso, offered reassurances to the Burkinabè community that significant efforts are underway to ensure the restoration of security across Burkina Faso by the end of 2024.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Bazié, who is also the current president of the Board of Directors of the African Regional Labor Administration Center (CRADAT), conveyed this commitment in a meeting with his compatriots in Yaoundé.



Minister Bazié detailed the comprehensive strategy being implemented to achieve this goal, including the selection of cooperative partners, bolstering combatant numbers, strategic reorganization of forces, strengthening of the territorial network, and acquisition of new combat equipment and materials. Furthermore, he highlighted the critical role of the population’s active involvement in these efforts, aiming for a significant improvement in security and peace by the year’s conclusion.



The Burkinabè diaspora in Cameroon consists of a diverse group, including international civil servants, workers in the informal sector, religious figures, students, and Cameroonian spouses of Burkinabe origin. This community plays a vital role in maintaining the cultural and social ties between Burkina Faso and Cameroon.



In response to Minister Bazié’s assurances, Professor Hamidou Koné, president of the Association of Burkinabè of Yaoundé, expressed the community’s ongoing prayers for the rapid restoration of peace and the safe return of all internally displaced persons to their localities, highlighting the diaspora’s solidarity with their homeland in these challenging times.
