The country’s security situation has contributed to the drop in staff numbers by around 6.84% at the national level, where 132,980 candidates are registered in the 510 juries. Problems related to the software for processing the results of school exams as well as logistical issues to be completed were noted in particular in the 3 juries this morning.

On the issue of software, Minister Joseph André Ouédraogo apologized for the pitfalls identified but preferred to see the glass half full.

The SIGEC software responds to an institutional option to provide the ministry with its own tool, unlike other years when private software was used.

According to him, the tool can be improved, but the option is relevant and the sacrifices of the Information Systems Department which designed it constitute an act of ”high patriotism”.

“I also understand the strong concern of the social partners. They expressed it and I heard them,” he replied.

By the end of this 2023 Baccalaureate session on July 7, attention will remain focused on the dates of June 29 and July 6, respectively chosen for the proclamation of the results of the first and second rounds.
