Mandera County Receives Sh200 Million in Medical Supplies

Mandera – The Mandera County government announced the reception of 180 tonnes of essential drugs, valued at Sh200 million, from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA). The consignment is part of a larger medical supply delivery to the county.

According to Kenya News Agency, Mohamed Ali, the County Executive Committee (CEC) for Health in Mandera, made the announcement on Sunday. He expressed the county’s dedication to prioritizing residents’ health through efficient distribution of these medical resources. Additionally, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Kenya Red Cross contributed drugs and medical items worth Sh78 million. Expressing appreciation, Ali praised the collaboration of all stakeholders involved in ensuring the continuity of healthcare services. He emphasized that the remotest health facilities in Banisa, Mandera North, Mandera South, Mandera East, and Kutulo sub-counties would be prioritized in the drug distribution. Ali also warned against misuse of these supplies and called for hospital administrators to ensure the drugs are used solely for their intended purposes.

The supplies are set to be distributed across 102 health facilities throughout Mandera County.
