Mali’s Coach Eric Sekou Chelle Praises Namibian Counterpart’s Football Project


SAN PEDRO: Mali’s head coach Eric Sekou Chelle commended Namibian coach Collin Benjamin for his strategic football project, following a goalless draw between the two teams in the African Cup of Nations. The match, part of Group E, took place at Laurent Pokou Stadium and saw both teams advance to the next tournament round. Chelle, speaking at a post-match media conference, expressed admiration for Benjamin’s approach, noting the courage and solidarity displayed by the Namibian players.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian team’s presence in the tournament is well-deserved and not surprising, as he has been following their games and style of play. Chelle emphasized that the African Cup of Nations this year is distinctive, with each team facing unique challenges but still delivering strong performances. He highlighted the physicality and well-built nature of the Namibian squad, indicating a bright future for the team under Benjamin’s leadership.



Chelle expressed hope that Benjamin would continue receiving support for his long-term project, which he sees as a plan spanning five to ten years.
