Bobo-Dioulasso: 75% of the staff at the Bobo-Dioulasso tomato processing plant are in their first jobs, a strategic decision aimed at addressing the lack of experience that impedes many young job seekers. This information was shared by APEC Director General Karim Traoré.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative by the Bobo-Dioulasso tomato processing plant is a response to the challenges faced by young individuals in securing employment due to insufficient professional experience. The plant’s approach allows these new employees to gain valuable on-the-job training and experience, thereby enhancing their future employability.

Karim Traoré emphasized the importance of this strategy in bridging the gap between the demand for experienced workers and the supply of inexperienced young job seekers. By employing a majority of first-time workers, the plant not only contributes to reducing unemployment but also plays a crucial role in workforce development.

The tomato processing plant’s decision refl
ects a broader trend within the region, where industries are increasingly focusing on integrating young, inexperienced workers into the workforce. This approach not only benefits the employees but also the industries, which gain access to a fresh pool of talent eager to learn and grow.
