Namentenga: The former mayor of the commune of Boulsa offers food to IDPs


The president of the Provincial Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Council (COPROSUR) of Namentenga, the High Commissioner of the said province, Adama Conseiga, chaired this Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the handover ceremony of 3 tons of corn , offered by the former mayor of the commune of Boulsa, Régis Aimé Roger Kaboret, in support of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).



In receiving this donation, the president of the Provincial Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Council (COPROSUR) of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, on behalf of the government and that of the governor of the Center-North region, welcomed the gesture of donor.



He took the opportunity to invite the daughters and sons of the province to maintain the gesture of solidarity that they have always shown.



According to the provincial director in charge of humanitarian action, Noregma Ouédraogo, as of August 28, 2023, his department counted 81,525 internally displaced people.



“The recent allocation of food from the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR) has made it possible to somewhat restock the stores which were previously empty,” he said.



Régis Aimé Kaboret added that it was in view of this unfortunate situation that he did his part to alleviate a little the suffering of his internally displaced parents with food.



The High Commissioner of the Namentenga province, on behalf of his hierarchy, warmly welcomed the donor’s gesture and reassured him that the donation will reach the right person.



He also took the opportunity to renew his thanks to the daughters and sons of the province who, since then, have shown their active solidarity with the IDPs through various donations before inviting them to continue to provide support because, according to him, the needs are still enormous.
