Participants in the conference of the Arab Women’s Organization in Tripoli are calling for enhancing opportunities for women’s inclusion in political action

Tripoli, The participants in the ninth conference of the Arab Women Organization in Tripoli called on Arab governments to adopt special policies that support and enhance opportunities for women’s inclusion in political work and other fields.

The recommendations issued at the conclusion of the conference, today, Tuesday, called for the economic empowerment of Arab women to raise sustainable development and social stability in the Arab countries and to enhance efforts to spread and strengthen civil peace.

The recommendations called for further efforts to spread human rights values, which would raise awareness of the importance of respecting women and preserving their dignity in all circumstances.

Participants in the conference called on governments to protect women and girls from all forms of violence by developing the necessary legislation and spreading a human culture inspired by religious ethics, respect for human dignity, the foundations of social justice, and family and community solidarity.

The recommendations called for doubling efforts to stop wars and armed conflicts, promote peace and support victims of conflicts and wars, especially forcibly displaced women and girls, displaced women and refugees.

It is noteworthy that the conference was organized by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in the Government of National Unity, and its activities were chaired by the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs and President of the Supreme Council of the Arab Women’s Organization, Houria Tarmal.

At the end of the conference, the Director General of the Arab Women’s Organization, Fadia Kiwan, was honored and presented with the shield of the conference in appreciation of her efforts in organizing the Ninth Conference of Arab Women in Libya.

The Director General of the organization, Fadia Kiwan, demanded an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, declaring the organization’s commitment to continuing to open the file of Palestinian women prisoners in Israeli prisons, and to follow up the issue with international institutions.
