The association SEVE-Africa in partnership with the NGO Oxfam, on Friday in Kaya, equipped IDPs and host populations, with a healthy use of social networks, within the framework of their activities. income generators (IGA).

“Social networks are powerful means of communication with multiple advantages. But if they are misused, it can cause serious consequences for the user and for the community. I therefore urge you to think twice before producing content or posting images on social media,” said journalist Harouna Ouédraogo.

According to him, we must use social networks in a responsible and civic way on everything concerning security issues.

Anything that contributes to improving the image of the user and facilitates the State in its actions to reconquer the national territory prey to terrorists.

“What you would not like to see later, you should not post it on digital platforms,” said the trainer to the participants, who came from several municipalities in the province of Sanmantenga.

Harouna Ouédraogo, spoke on Friday August 25, 2023, in Kaya, during a training session organized by the association Supporting the Emergence and Valorization of the Local Economy in Africa (SEVE-Africa) on the initiation and the use of social networks and photography for the benefit of internally displaced persons and hosts in the province.

Photographer Landry Eric Wendkouni Ilboudo taught participants the different techniques to take better photos of their products before posting them.

It should be noted that this training is part of the implementation of the project to support socio-economic resilience and the empowerment of more than 400 young people, women and men and implemented by the SEVE-Africa association and its partner Oxfam.

The first manager of the association, Sandrine Diallo, indicated that the overall objective of this training is to improve the quality of the images of the products of Income Generating Activities (IGA) published on social networks.

“Thus, in order to facilitate the online promotion of products from specific IGAs, it was recommended as part of the No-Cost Extension (NCE), the capacity building of specific groups of IGAs on shooting and the use of social media,” she concluded.
