September is commemorated as Heritage month, celebrating the cultural expressions and practices that form a body of knowledge and provide continuity, dynamism, and meaning to social life. The knowledge-based economy presents new opportunities for Africa and the world to embrace indigenous languages for inclusivity.

Government Communication and Information System will host Africa’s Webinar on Africa’s Heritage under the theme: Celebrating Africa’s languages inheritance and technology for innovation in the knowledge economy on 23 September at 14h00.

Speakers in the programme are:

Dr Tegan Bristow- Senior Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Director of Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival and finalist in the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF).

Mr Unathi Kondile- Editor of Iphepha News, Former Editor of Isolezwe and current Editor of African Science stars.

Ms Fay Shao- Pan-African strategist, Investor, Business Coach, Entrepreneur and African Heritage and Culture Philanthropist, operating between Eastern & Southern Africa, Currently Based in Pretoria South Africa.
