Ghanaian Students Visit Burkina Faso in a Bid to Strengthen South-South Cooperation

LÉO, Burkina Faso — A group of students from Kanton Senior High School in Tumu, Ghana, led by their principal, Emmanuel Naa-i, visited the Léo Municipal High School on Friday, May 10, 2024. The visit aimed to enhance South-South cooperation through educational exchange.

According to Burkina Information Agency, principal of the Léo Municipal High School, the visit is part of ongoing collaboration efforts between the two schools. The Ghanaian delegation was warmly received at the Léo town hall by Nikiéma and other local dignitaries, including the 2nd vice-president of the special delegation of the urban commune of Léo. The event saw significant participation, including students, the mayor, provincial directors of post-primary and secondary education, parents, and representatives from other schools.

During the exchange meeting held at the municipal high school, Nikiéma highlighted the importance of strengthening the collaboration for the benefit of students from both nations, especially in fostering viable cultural and educational exchanges. Emmanuel Naa-i expressed appreciation for the hospitality shown by the host community. The visit also provided an opportunity for students from both institutions to engage, share experiences, and form friendships.

The day’s activities concluded with tours of Sofitex and the Léo market, further enriching the cultural exchange between the students from the two schools.
