Provincial Commissioner in Limpopo Warns Against Scammers Offering Police Jobs for Bribes

POLOKWANE – Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, issued a warning to the public about scammers who are claiming to offer positions as Police trainees in exchange for bribes.

According to South Africa Police Service, especially from the Mopani District, over 15 complaints have been filed by candidates who recently completed their psychometric tests. The scammers reportedly contact these candidates immediately after their tests, offering to ensure they pass the assessments in exchange for money.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe stated, “Community members should never fall prey to such scammers, as Police jobs are not for sale. Under no circumstances will a police official ask for money in exchange for a job. We wish to issue a stern warning to scammers that their days are numbered. Anyone with information regarding those selling government jobs must report the matter to the police for investigations and prosecution.”

The public is urged to report any such criminal activities through Crime Stop number 0860010111, the nearest police station, or the MySAPS App. Investigations are currently underway.
