The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has applauded the high-density operational members under SAPS Masemola Policing area, Sekhukhune District for their alertness, vigilance and resilience in removing firearms from the wrong hands.
This was evident when the various disciplines under the Station Commander of Masemola, K9 Unit as well as VISPOL members arrested five suspects at Mawhibitsane Village, Ga-Masemola during Operation Kukula (Shanela) sweeping through the Province. They were arrested for illegal possession of a firearm as well as suspected stolen vehicle in the early hours of this morning at around 02:00.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was hijacked at Sekhukhune Policing area.
These suspects will be charged with possession of suspected stolen vehicle as well as illegal possession of a firearm.
They will also be facing an additional charge of carjacking which took place in Sekhukhune Policing area.

he arrested suspects will be appearing in different Magistrates Courts facing said changes.
