This event, scheduled for December 28, 2024, aims to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of individuals excelling in culture and sports within the Northern region of Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the press conference highlighted the significance of culture as a vital component in the development of a nation, fostering social cohesion and unity. Despite the challenging security conditions in Burkina Faso, particularly in the Northern region, committed cultural advocates are determined to honor those making significant strides in cultural and sporting arenas.

Issiaka Tégwindé Savadogo, the Secretary General of the Association for Art in the Service of Development, stated, “The purpose of this press conference is to reveal
to the Burkinabe public the main points of the Filga d’Or 2024. We want to recognize their merits and express our solidarity to promote culture and sport through this ceremony.”

The initiative is seen as crucial, particularly in a challenging security environment. Recognizing the efforts of those persevering in the cultural and sports sectors is essential. The organizers of the Filga d’Or are commended for their efforts, with an appeal to the youth of the region to support and collaborate with authorities to restore peace.

The Filga d’Or 2024, now in its second edition, seeks success through the collective support of the region’s community. The event is set to take place on December 28, 2024, in the city of Naaba Kango.
