Ethiopia Advances in Healthcare through Innovation and Technology

Addis Ababa: The Ethiopian Government has intensified its investment in innovation and technology to elevate the quality of healthcare services, the Ministry of Health announced. At the opening of the 8th National Healthcare Innovation and Quality Summit, Health State Minister Dr. Ayele Teshome emphasized the pivotal role of innovative solutions in enhancing the health system’s efficiency and accessibility. The government’s focus on digitization, automation, and medical technology innovations has led to significant improvements in patient safety, accountability, and equitable access to care, particularly for underserved communities. Moreover, Science and Technology and Innovation State Minister Bayissa Bedada highlighted the contribution of these advancements towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063. The summit, themed “Promoting Health System Innovation to Enhance Healthcare Quality, Safety and Equity,” features participation from various local and international stakeholders,
underscoring the collaborative effort to transform Ethiopia’s healthcare landscape.
