Burkina: Soon another presidential initiative to support grassroots communities

The presidential initiative for community development, desired by President Ibrahim Traoré, aims, among other things, to improve the living environment of grassroots communities and to provide them with infrastructure.

“The Council of Ministers adopted a Presidential Initiative for Community Development.

According to the Government Spokesperson, Jean-Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO, this Initiative, which is based on the principles of voluntary participation, ownership, empowerment, transparency and accountability, essentially comprises three components.

“This involves the construction or rehabilitation of infrastructure, the improvement of the living environment and the preservation of the environment, the strengthening of the capacities of grassroots communities,” he explained. The initiative will be led by the Presidency of Faso through the National Bureau of Major Projects. »
