Ouagadougou: On Saturday, December 23, 2023, a significant number of the Burkinabè diaspora in Italy demonstrated their commitment to community entrepreneurship by participating in a subscription event at the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) in Ouagadougou. This event was an initiative of the Federation of Burkinabè Associations in Italy (FABI).
According to Burkina Information Agency, nearly 500 Burkinabè residents of Italy, who were back in their country for vacations or other reasons, visited the APEC headquarters in the Ouaga 2000 district to engage in this large-scale subscription. The participants, representing various ages and genders, filled almost every office and hallway of the agency, highlighting the significant turnout and enthusiasm for the initiative.
Samadou Soulené, the president of FABI, articulated the intent of the Burkinabè diaspora in Italy to contribute meaningfully to this significant initiative of APEC. He emphasized the importance of such community-focused projects and noted how similar initiatives have been successful in other contexts. Soulené suggested that Burkina Faso is making a timely and important move by embracing this approach.
Harouna Zallé, the person responsible for managing subscriptions for Burkinabè living abroad at Apec, expressed a sense of joy in witnessing the active participation and enthusiasm of the diaspora in this endeavor.
