Burkinabè Forces Eliminate Multiple Terrorists in Strategic Operation in Boala

BOALA — In a decisive military operation on March 13, 2024, the Burkinabè army conducted targeted strikes in Boala, located in the Boulsa region of North-Central Burkina Faso, resulting in the death of numerous terrorists.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation unfolded when a surveillance team in Boala detected an advancing group of terrorists. The rapid response of the Burkinabè Combatant Forces, involving coordinated air and ground assaults, successfully thwarted the terrorist advancement. Initial airstrikes targeted a group of terrorists assembled under a tree, marking the commencement of a broader engagement.

Subsequent actions saw attack helicopters intensifying the offensive, striking down terrorists attempting to navigate northwards. In a related development on March 15, the army preempted an anticipated series of attacks by several hundred terrorists originating from the North. Despite the terrorists’ efforts to evade capture by retreating north, the persistence of the Burkinabè forces paid off. Air support played a crucial role in intercepting a fleeing group, significantly debilitating their numbers.

The aftermath of the operation revealed substantial losses among the terrorist ranks, with many combatants either killed or incapacitated. Additionally, the forces secured an array of weapons and logistical resources, some of which remained intact and recoverable. The operation not only inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorist groups but also demonstrated the strategic acumen and resolve of the Burkinabè military forces.
