Ouagadougou: Approximately a hundred Burkinabè exhibitors are currently participating in the 31st edition of the Dakar International Fair (FIDAK), a significant cultural event in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, The Dakar International Fair, which commenced on December 7, 2023, is approaching its conclusion in six days. The Burkina Faso embassy in Senegal informed the AIB that Burkina Faso is represented by about a hundred exhibitors at the fair. These exhibitors are displaying a wide range of products across 30 stands, including basketry items, pottery, leather goods, traditional fabrics and outfits, food products, and traditional medicine.
On December 21, 2023, staff from the Burkina Faso Embassy, along with the Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso in Senegal and a delegation from the Association of Burkinabè Entrepreneurs and Incubators in Senegal, visited FIDAK. The purpose of their visit was to encourage and commend the exhibitors for their efforts in promoting the products and expertise of Burkina Faso.
It is noteworthy that FIDAK has been a recurring event since 1974, with Burkina Faso consistently participating. The theme for this 31st edition of the fair focuses on ’empowerment of women for sustainable economic and social development’.
