Abidjan: The Union of Burkinabe Chiefs and Notables in Côte d’Ivoire, along with the Faso Bara Association, has collectively contributed a generous sum of one million 550 thousand FCFA francs to the Patriotic Support Fund. The contribution was officially handed over to the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Abidjan as part of an ongoing effort to support the nation’s fight against terrorism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe leaders and notables residing in Ivory Coast have mobilized one million and fifty thousand FCFA, while the Faso-Bara Association has contributed 500 thousand francs. This financial support aligns with President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s call for Burkinabe citizens both domestically and abroad to rally in support of reclaiming Burkinabe territories affected by terrorism.

The interim manager of the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Abidjan, Ousséni Ouédraogo, expressed gratitude for the contributions and urged all Burkinabe citizens to remain mobilized in
the fight against terrorism. Ouédraogo emphasized the importance of continued support until the nation achieves its ultimate goal of defeating terrorism.

Burkinabe individuals and associations, both in Côte d’Ivoire and globally, have consistently shown their commitment to supporting their homeland, which has been grappling with terrorism since at least 2016.
