Burkina Faso President Traoré Expresses Confidence in Path to Sovereignty and Prosperity

OUAGADOUGOU – Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of Burkina Faso, expressed strong conviction in his leadership’s direction towards achieving sovereignty and prosperity for the Burkinabè people. His remarks came during an address to the nation in Ouagadougou on Sunday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the current trajectory and policy approach of his administration are ideal for securing Burkina Faso’s freedom and prosperity. He emphasized the significance of the chosen path in enhancing the country’s sovereignty. The President’s address reflected his belief in the nobility of the fight that Burkina Faso, along with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and Africa as a whole, is waging.

Since assuming power in September 2022, Captain Traoré has shown a keen interest in diversifying Burkina Faso’s partnerships. A notable development in this direction is the formation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), in collaboration with Mali and Niger. This alliance aims to combat the rampant terrorism affecting the three states.
