Ouagadougou — In a significant blow to terrorist activities, Burkina Faso’s Combatant Forces have neutralized several terrorists and seized equipment following a series of operations across the North, North-Central, and East regions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, these successful operations included an offensive by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the village of Tipoli, roughly twenty kilometers from Bogandé, on the afternoon of Monday, November 6, 2023. The operation resulted in multiple terrorists being neutralized and two captured, along with the confiscation of 9 Kalashnikovs, 10 motorcycles, communications devices, clothing items, and religious books.

Reliable sources report that the Fighting Forces sustained no injuries in the battle and received a warm welcome complete with applause upon their return to Bogandé.

Furthermore, on the same day, the Kelbo Fighting Forces withstood an assault from approximately twenty terrorists. Demonstrating resolve, the forces caused the attackers to retreat northward, with air support closely monitoring their movement. Subsequently, when the attackers paused under trees presumably to attend to their wounded, they were decisively engaged and neutralized by the air vectors.

Additionally, on November 5, 2023, reconnaissance efforts led to the discovery of a group of terrorists in the Center-North region, positioned under a tree and apparently preparing for logistics movement. It is believed that they intended to launch attacks on civilian populations. However, air support was able to neutralize the threat promptly, preventing any further attacks.

The sources confirmed that security operations are ongoing across various fronts to maintain pressure on terrorist groups.
