BANFORA – The late Dr. Zéphyrin Dakuyo, a well-known phytotherapist who passed away on October 15, 2023, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, will be laid to rest on Monday, October 23, 2023, in Niangologo, Burkina Faso, according to the Burkina Information Agency.

According to News Releases by Burkina Information Agency, On the night between October 20 and 21, 2023, a procession escorted Dr. Zéphyrin Dakuyo’s remains from Ouagadougou to Banfora following his flight from Abidjan. Another, larger procession welcomed the deceased at the Banfora toll post around 10 pm. After a brief stop at his home in sector 1, the remains were transferred to the Banfora CHR morgue at approximately 11:30 pm.

Sunday, October 22, 2023, has been designated a day for family meditation. The burial is set to take place the following day, Monday, October 23, on Dr. Zéphyrin Dakuyo’s farm in Koutoura, located within the commune of Niangoloko, about 40 kilometers from Banfora.

Dr. Zéphyrin Dakuyo, who was 68 years old at the time of his death, dedicated his life to treating people using plant-based medicines. Numerous individuals, including representatives from the Burkinabè government, have offered poignant tributes to Dr. Dakuyo for his lifetime of service.
