4 Test Positive For Covid-19

A total of four new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours after 420 tests were conducted.
Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Susan Nakhumicha in a statement on Wednesday said that of the new cases, one is male and three are female, with ages ranging from 18 months to 49 years.
The CS said that the total number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 342,976, with 3,981,257 cumulative tests conducted.
‘The new cases are distributed in Nakuru (2), Nairobi (1), and Siaya (1) counties. Two patients have also recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, with both recoveries from the Home-Based Care and Isolation programme,’ said Nakhumicha.
She explained that this brings the total number of recoveries to 337,262, with 283,518 of them from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, and 53,744 from various health facilities.
‘No new fatalities have been reported in the last 24 hours, keeping the cumulative number of deaths at 5,688. The cumulative deaths are distributed by age, with 62 deaths in the 0-9 years age group, 44 in the 10-19 years age group, 152 in the 20-29 years age group, 415 in the 30-39 years age group, 654 in the 40-49 years age group, 1,034 in the 50-59 years age group, and 3,327 in the 60 years and above age group,’ said the CS.
Nakhumicha said that there are no patients currently admitted in health facilities, and 22 patients are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
‘No patient is currently on supplemental oxygen or in the ICU,’ she said.
