Employment and Labour on temporary closure of volkrust satellite office due COVID–19

Volkrust satellite office temporary closed due to an official testing positive to COVID–19

The Volksrust Satellite Office in Mpumalanga, is temporarily closed due to an official testing positive to COVID-19. The temporary closure of the centre is to ensure that the affected employee and the other official who has been in contact with the affected employee can self-isolate and for decontamination of the office to be carried out as required.

Though the Department of Employment and Labour is concerned about the disruption of their much-needed services, of paramount importance is the safety of its clients and staff members.

“An employee of the department tested positive to COVID -19 and has been in contact with one official due to the nature of their work. We have decided to allow the affected officials to self-isolate and we will be embarking on decontamination of the office,” said Margaret Mazibuko, the Chief Director: Provincial Operations in Mpumalanga.

The office is expected to reopen on Monday, 06 September 2021 and clients are encouraged to use the Department’s online services found on www.labour.gov.za or visit the Standerton Labour Centre or Amersfoort visiting point.
