‘The Burkinabè Government is saddened by the publication this Monday, September 25, 2023 of a new misleading article on the website of the newspaper Jeune Afrique, entitled: ‘In Burkina Faso, still tensions within the army’.

This publication follows a previous article in the said newspaper on the same site on Thursday September 21, 2023, in which Jeune Afrique alleged that ‘In Burkina Faso, discontent is growing in the barracks’.

These assertions made deliberately without the shadow of a beginning of proof, have the sole aim of throwing unacceptable discredit on the National Armed Forces and beyond all the Combatting Forces which fight with self-sacrifice for the sovereignty and dignity of our people on the free land of Burkina
.

By deliberately choosing untruth and grotesque manipulation, in the total negation of any professional ethics of journalism, Jeune Afrique has chosen its camp, that of intoxication and disinformation orchestrated by occult agencies whose thought leaders are trying to sow chaos in our country to better enslave and exploit it.

The historic future of Burkina Faso is not dependent on the moods of misguided journalists and the media cabal launched against our country and our valiant defense and security forces is colliding, to the misfortune of its initiators and their sponsors, to the vigilance of our people and the Transitional Government which has thus decided with full responsibility to suspend until further notice all broadcast media of Jeune Afrique in Burkina Faso as of Monday, September 25, 2023.

The Government will remain intractable with any media actor who puts his pen in the service of interests foreign to those of the Burkinabè people. He reassures the populations that he remains viscerally attac
hed to the defense of the vital interests of our people and will take responsibility whenever the higher interest of the Nation requires it. »

Ouagadougou, September 25, 2023, the spokesperson for the Burkinabè government, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel OUÉDRAOGO.
