Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will participate in the General Affairs Council of the European Union, which will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, November 23, in Brussels.
Talks will focus on the preparation of the European Council of 16 and 17 December 2021, whose agenda includes the addressing the COVID 19 pandemic, Crisis Management and Resistance to future crises, energy prices, Security and Defense issues, as well as and the Union’s External Relations.
Ministers will also adopt conclusions on enhancing preparedness, reaction capability and resilience in future crises. They will exchange views on EU Enlargement and the Stabilization and Association Process. The agenda also includes the state of play regarding EU-UK relations, and there will be a country-specific debate in the context of the annual Rule of Law dialogue. The Commission will present its work program for 2022.
It is noted that, prior to the General Affairs Council, the Alternate Minister will participate in a working breakfast hosted by the Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution of Austria, Ms Karoline Edtstadler, where the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Zdravko Krivokapic, has been invited.
