Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis’ meeting with the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič (Athens, 22.11.2021)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis met today in his office with EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič. In particular, during their discussion they exchanged views on the action of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, with Mr. Varvitsiotis emphasizing the important role of the rescEU program in addressing this summer’s devastating forest fires in our country. Mr Lenarčič also acknowledged Greece’s significant contribution to the EU humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
