Tunis – Trade figures between Tunisia and African countries have reached a significant milestone, with Algeria accounting for a substantial portion of this exchange. According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), the trade volume demonstrates the prominence of Algeria in Tunisia’s African trade relations.
According to Africa News Agency, The INS figures reveal that trade between Tunisia and African countries amounted to 13 billion dinars at the end of November 2023. Of this, trade with Algeria represented 6 billion dinars, equating to 46% of Tunisia’s trade with the continent. The trade deficit with Algeria stood at 3932.9 million dinars as of November 30 of this year. Furthermore, Tunisia’s imports from African countries totaled 7,186.2 million dinars, while the value of Tunisian exports to the continent was 5,875.9 million dinars at the end of November 2023. This resulted in a trade deficit with African countries of 1.3 billion dinars.
