Joy To Kesses Residents As Sub County’s DCC’s Office Is Opened

Residents of Kesses Sub-county in Uasin Gishu are delighted after the government opened a Deputy County Commissioner’s Office in the area.

This will ensure residents access government services including civil registration and others easily, unlike before when they were forced to travel far to Eldoret town, to seek for the same services.

This newly established office will serve as a centralized hub, housing various government departments, dedicated to delivering essential services to the citizens.

Speaking after officially unveiling the Kesses Sub-county DCC’s Office, Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and National Administration, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, promised that he will deploy all the required officers from all the departments of government in two weeks’ time.

‘Service has come closer now to Wananchi, in two weeks’ time we shall deploy all the officers required here, including civil registration officers and others, to ensure our people get these services such as IDs, birth certificates and others closely without necessarily travelling to Eldoret like before,’ he said.

The CS commended the National Administrative Officers (NGAOs) from Regional, County, Sub-counties, Location, Sub-location up to Council of Elders and Nyumba Kumi for their great work in boosting security, noting that there had not been serious insecurity cases reported in Uasin Gishu.

He hinted on plans to improve the terms and conditions of service of the Administrative Officers from the grassroots level to the national level, after the government is through with reforms for members of the National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service.

‘We recognize and value the work done by the NGAOs to enhance service delivery for our people from the grassroots all the way to the national level, we are going to make sure that we bring reforms and improve the terms and conditions of service, for our National Government Administration Officers,’ he said.

‘This year I will give directions on how we will be able to give our Wazee wa Mitaa and Nyumba Kumi a stipend, to support them when doing their work,’ added Prof. Kindiki.

To beef-up security in the area, the CS indicated that he will allocate funds from July 1st this year, to complete the stalled construction project at Kesses Police Station and also will also provide two police vehicles, to support officers when undertaking patrols in the area.

He further assured leaders and residents that the government will address the issues of title deeds for all the public land, where government offices are situated in the area in a span of 90 days.

‘I want to assure you on behalf of the government, in 90 days from now, we are going to do a Rapid Response Initiative (RRI), to issue title deeds to all government facilities and private property that is not titled within this area’ he said.
