Banwa: Celebrating International Youth Day Delayed

The youth of the Banwa celebrated their international day on a delayed basis under the theme: “employability of young people living in rural areas and the fight against insecurity in Burkina Faso”

The meeting room of the Union of Cotton Producers refused people on Thursday August 17, 2023 in Solenzo.

Indeed the international youth day which was celebrated everywhere in Burkina Faso on August 12, the Banwalese youth held for them on Thursday August 17, 2023 in the morning.

The High Commissioner Oumarou Sandwidi after his opening speech was also the speaker of this day, assisted by the PDS of Solenzo and the Provincial Director of Youth and Employment.

A communication session on the themes of “initiatives (integration opportunity referent), citizenship and employment, was held in front of several dozen people from Solenzo and other municipalities in Banwa province.

The socio-economic development of young people and the fight against terrorism were at the heart of the discussions.

Thus several questions related to the various themes led by the High Commissioner were asked and the speakers were satisfied, according to a young person from sector 3 of Solenzo who requested anonymity.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen these kinds of ceremonies in the Banwa. What we heard and what I understood encourages me to fight for my own development and that of the province and even the country. I am now 31 years old. Success and our success cannot come from elsewhere”.

Questions on funding for youth projects were given by Abdoul Loh Napo, Provincial Director in charge of Youth and Banwa Employment.

The day, which should continue with a popular cross country event followed by aerobics and a friendly match in the evening, was interrupted by rain.

Thus sports activities have been brought back to Saturday August 19, 2023
