Kroonstad Police Arrest Two Women on Drug Charges

KROONSTAD – In a significant crackdown on drug-related crimes, two women, aged 23 and 26, have been arrested in Brentpark, Kroonstad, for alleged involvement in drug dealing and possession.

According to South African Police Service, the Fezile Dabi District and Kroonstad Crime Intelligence units acted on a tip-off received on Friday, November 24, 2023, around 20:15. The information pointed to two women allegedly dealing in drugs at a particular residence in Brentpark, Kroonstad.

The police teams quickly responded to this intelligence and, upon arriving at the specified location, conducted a thorough search of the house. During this search, they discovered various drugs, including Mandrax tablets and Crystal Meth, estimated to have a street value of R721. In addition to the drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash was also confiscated from the premises.

The two women, implicated in these drug dealings, are now set to face legal proceedings. They are scheduled to appear before the Kroonstad Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 27, 2023, where they will answer charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal substances.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of illegal drugs in the community.
